CAMBRIDGE, Mass., March 3, 2020 – Obsidian Therapeutics, a biotechnology company pioneering controllable cell and gene therapies, today announced the appointment of Anders Götzsche to its Board of Directors. Mr. Götzsche will serve as the Chair of Obsidian’s Audit Committee. Mr. Götzsche currently serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of H. Lundbeck A/S (LUN.CO).

“Anders brings strong public company financial expertise and transactional experience, as well as a unique global perspective, to the Obsidian board,” said Peter Barrett, Ph.D., partner at Atlas Venture and Chair of the Board. “Anders’ experience at Lundbeck and his various other board appointments will be invaluable as we work to develop a new generation of cell and gene therapies and usher Obsidian through its next phase of growth. Mr. Götzsche joined H. Lundbeck A/S in September 2007 as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Additionally, he currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Rosborg Møbler A/S and is a Board Member and Chair of the Audit Committee of DFDS A/S. Before joining Lundbeck, Mr. Götzsche held the post of Chief Financial Officer for the Berlingske Officin A/S. He was a Board member and Chair of the Audit Committee at Veloxis A/S, a pharmaceutical company recently acquired by Asahi Kasei. Earlier in his career, he held positions at Group 4 Falck A/S, SAS Institute Inc. and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Götzsche holds an MS degree in Accounting from the University of Southern Denmark.
