Research Associate/Associate Scientist Cellular Immunology

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Make independent, intellectual, and technical contributions to Obsidian projects, while working on a collaborative team
  • Isolate T cells, NK cells, and monocytes from murine splenocytes and human blood for ex vivo engineering, differentiation, characterization and in vivo adoptive transfer studies
  • Design, develop, and execute in vitro and ex vivo cell based assays using cell lines, human primary cells, and human and murine whole blood
  • Develop and evaluate biomarker strategies using murine and human ex vivo tissues and serum
  • Independently design experiments, meticulously execute bench work, troubleshoot assays, analyze data, and communicate findings
  • Present results at internal meetings

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • BS/MS with 3+ yrs experience in an industry setting; immunology or immuno-oncology research preferred (job title will depend on level of experience)
  • Ability to quickly learn, and adapt in a fast paced, rapidly developing environment. Experience working in multiple projects simultaneously is a plus
  • Demonstrated expertise in ex vivo immunology studies and functional T, NK, and myeloid cell assay development using techniques such as multi-color flow cytometry, Luminex, MSD, ELISA and ELISpot
  • Experience with lentiviral or retroviral transduction of primary human & murine cells would be a plus
  • Competency in cell biology, molecular biology and protein chemistry techniques, including qPCR and western blotting would be highly valued
  • High level of motivation and ability to work both independently and on collaborative teams
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with flawless record keeping and multi-tasking abilities
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Authorized to work in the US at the time of application
